"OUR BEST JERSEY RUN EVER!"

That is how one Network employee characterized our 2/99 Jersey Summary. Our twelve active bulls average +52 Protein, +57 Fat, +1616 Milk, +200 MFP$, +2.4PTAT, and +259 PTI.

122J5067 JASON made a big move up the PTI list. His increase of over 200 pounds of milk, 10 pounds of protein, and 8 pounds of fat, moved Jason all the way up the Active PTI List to number 3! A storm from a Royal, Jason sires great frames, correct feet and legs, and udders with deep creases and close teat placement. And they are WET! Use Jason on the tight ribbed, short teated, smooth cows that need more production and dairy frame.
Nymans Jason #1048
122J5063 AVERY moved back up near the top of the list, now number 5 on the Active PTI list. At +1769milk +60P +57F +2.7PTAP and +313PTI Avery is a great all around type and production improver. A Lester from a Pal, his daughters are tall, long, deep cows with ideal leg set, lots of heel. They have soft udders with strong attachments and correct teat placement. Continue to use Avery on your Berretta and other Sooner bloodlines.
Yosemite Avery Pleasure T1462
122J5064 TIDY continues to be the bull people are buzzing about when they get a chance to see the daughters. A Malcolm brother to Avery, Tidy can sire the fancy one. They are wide rumped, hard loined, deep ribbed, with fancy udders. Expect Tidy to sire some cows that will be very competitive in the show ring. At +1715M +57P +66F +2.7PTAT and +298PTI, Tidy is number 11 on the Active Jersey List.

PTI Formula Change

For the most part, the PTIs of the Jersey breed shifted down slightly in the 2/99 proofs. Among other things, butterfat is being weighted heavier in the new formula. Make sure you are looking at proofs, not just their PTI. Many bull's PTIs went down this proof compared to 11/98, but the bull still may rank considerably higher within the breed. Make sure to look at what their new ranking is.

Diversity of Genetics

Of the twelve bulls on our active Jersey list, nine different sires are represented. We feel it is important to not only give you options as to which bulls to buy, we consider it very important to offer a variety of genetics to you. We will continue to strive for the genetic diversity you are looking for.
